CEO + LEADERSHIP TEAM COACH
Meet Barb Kinnaird
When I became a CEO, I wasn’t ready.
My background wasn’t in business. I was a scientist with a passion for advancing innovation in medical technology. A passion that fueled me to deliver work that got me seven promotions
in ten years at Response Biomedical.
In 2015, I stepped into the CEO role.
I had ambitions to transform the company from a niche manufacturer to a global leader in diagnostics products. But like many leaders, I quickly hit a wall.
I was stuck in execution and I struggled to find time to focus on strategy. Meanwhile, my board wanted to see results. Fast.
I was working all the time, and I felt alone and unsupported.
At first I tried to grind it out alone. I read the leadership books, networked with other leaders, and thought about stacking my team with expensive hires.
Eventually, I found Metronomics and everything changed.
It was the only system that I’d come across that effectively links strategy to execution for companies at every stage. I started implementing it on my own and saw how powerful it was.
I was convinced that with the right support, this system could help me gain the momentum I needed to transform Response.
I hired a Metronomics coach to support me and my leadership team. We doubled down on implementing the system and led Response onto the global market.
For ten years, I used Metronomics with my coach. We scaled clinical sales from $3M to over $10M. And I became a voice in Canadian medical technology.
Most importantly, I felt supported by my coach and team at every stage.
Now, I’m on a mission to make sure CEOs don’t have to navigate growth alone. I coach them to deliver the results that keep their investors happy. And I support them in building the companies they want to lead.
